For the last few years, actually the last few decades, I have relied on working late to make for the fact that I did not put in 8 hours of productive work. However, what usually winds up happening is that the overtime is just as unproductive as the previous eight were. I have got to put a stop to this endless circle. I don’t mind the idea that I will probably always have to put in 1-2 more than everyone else to keep up. The problem with that is at the end of those 10 hours, I should have completed a day’s worth of work, and that is not happening. I will continue to wallow in this damned grade level, without any hope of a promotion, if I don’t change this.
