Are there any ADHD programmers out there? I'm hoping to talk to a few, trade tips on how to manage a work day. I've noticed that the usual time management structures don't work. One, we often have to keep emails open so that we immediately know about apps being down, so there goes only checking a couple of times a day. I've also tried scheduling when in a day I would work on a project, but that doesn't do too well either; see #1 as to why. And so on. Any tips would be appreciated.

I know that this is kind of hard to believe, but ...
... I think that I might do better at work watching videos over listening to music. When I'm watching my iPod, most especially if I'm watching something that I've seen before, I mostly listen to it, occasionally glancing down at the screen laying next to my keyboard. When I'm listening to music, most especially to a song with lyrics, one that I really like, or even a classical or jazz instrumental that I really like, I tend to sing or hum along with it. If it's really catchy, I'll almost dance along with it in my chair. I put more mental concentration into listening to the songs than I do semi-watching a movie or TV show, even when I know what I'm watching well enough to quote the lines. Interesting ...
